The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest by Stieg Larsson

The epic conclusion to the Millennium Trilogy starring journalist Mikael Blomkvist and anti-social hacker Lisbeth Salander.

When they say this book is an epic conclusion, they mean it and that’s why you should read this. But I have to caution you, this one is not to be read without having finished the first two books.

What I liked most about the plot is that its complex yet comprehensible. I guess it was the case because Stieg constantly gives background on every character in their every appearance. Some are small and negligible but they’re there and its repetition sticks in your head which makes it easier to follow whatever it is they’re doing and why they are doing such.

Aside from its complexity I love how he fashioned the characters to be adept in whatever their role was. Unlike many other books wherein the lead characters whose description revolve around idiocy and frailty, Stieg’s characters are strong-willed, fighters and loyal and by all means good if they’re good and bad if they’re really bad. There was no repentance in the end only justice and I guess that’s what makes it a badass book.

You may be wondering why the title is such, well just to give you some sort of a hint its actually because Lisbeth, the heart of the three books, created an uproar in the territory of really big people, the ones whose power and grasp are as big as hornets. So yeah, she kicked the hornet’s nest.

Five stars

My wood cut so far. (: Reminded me of this blog haha. I already had a couple people give me money for prints because their girlfriends were obsessed with these movies. I think I’m seeing a pattern. :P
